Electrolysis is a hair removal treatment that uses heat or chemical energy to safely and permanently destroy the growth cells of the hair follicle. Electrolysis devices send a short wave of electric current through a very fine needle probe inserted into the follicle in order to damage and disable it.

Diathermy

Diathermy is a treatment that uses high frequency electric current to product heat. During the treatment a fine needle is laid onto a capillary, which will then release a current. This heat will seal and drain the blood that causes the broken capillaries to appear.
Some skin will develop very tiny scabs after the diathermy skin treatment.
Post & Pre Treatment Care

​Pre Treatment Care

For one week prior to treatment do NOT shave or have any other hair removal treatment.

Ensure the area is clean and free from any creams or lotions.

For best results keep your skin well hydrated to increase the effectiveness of the treatment so we recommend that the client drinks an ample amount of water in the week prior to their appointment.

On the day of treatment please don't apply any deodorants, creams or lotions prior to your appointment.

If the pain factor is a worry for you take two Panadol tablets one hour prior to the appointment but don’t exceed the dosage instructions.

You can also use numbing cream on the area to reduce discomfort.

Post Treatment Care​

After you treatment it is essential that you keep the area clean. Pat dry the area only and avoid rubbing to reduce irritation.

If required you can apply ice or cold packs to the area to reduce any swelling or discomfort.

Avoid using makeup on treated areas for 3-4 days post treatment.

Moisturize treated area daily but avoid creams that contain alcohol, acids or oils.

Avoid direct exposure to sunlight or tanning of any kind for at least seven days and always use chemical free sunscreen on the area.

Make sure the area is clean prior to treatment to reduce the risk of infection or irritation.

Post Treatment Care​

Post treatment the area may remain red for several hours.

For the first 24 hours after treatment only wash the area with luke warm water, avoid any soaps or lotions.

Avoid touching the area to reduce irritation and infection.
-
Protect the area from soap, shampoo and hair spray etc. for 24 hours.

Do not pick off any tiny crusts present.
-
After treatment do NOT use sunbeds for 7 days.

Avoid direct sunlight for 7 days.
